The evolution of golf is not only about enhancing course layouts, but also about implementing solutions that
improve the playing experience while reducing environmental impact. With this goal in mind, INFINITUM has added 50 new electric buggies to its fleet, bringing the total number of vehicles to 120 and reinforcing its commitment to more sustainable, innovative and efficient golf.
Equipped with lithium batteries, next-generation GPS technology and an electric braking system, the new vehicles improve safety, optimise mobility across the courses and provide greater comfort for players. This investment complements other initiatives implemented by INFINITUM Resort to continue enhancing the golfing experience on the Costa Dorada, one of the Mediterranean’s most renowned golf destinations.
A new generation of buggies to enhance the playing experience
The introduction of the new Club Car Tempo vehicles represents far more than a fleet renewal. Designed to
deliver a more comfortable, efficient and sustainable golfing experience, the new buggies incorporate advanced technology that improves on-course mobility and makes it easier for players to move around the resort. Equipped with lithium batteries, the Visage V4 GPS system and electric braking technology, these vehicles reflect INFINITUM's commitment to continually elevating the quality of its facilities and services. Safety has also been enhanced thanks to an electric braking system that improves vehicle control and handling throughout the round.
Lithium batteries for more efficient mobility
The new buggies feature state-of-the-art lithium batteries, a technology that offers significant benefits both for vehicle performance and
the sustainability of golf courses. Thanks to their lighter weight, these systems consume less energy and allow for faster charging, improving fleet availability while reducing the environmental impact associated with on-course mobility. In addition, because they operate entirely on electricity, they help reduce direct emissions linked to conventional fuel use.
GPS technology for a more advanced golf experience
Each vehicle is equipped with the Visage V4 GPS system, a technology designed to enhance the on-course playing experience. This solution provides accurate information throughout the round and promotes more efficient movement around the courses, helping optimise travel times while offering greater convenience for players. The integration of cutting-edge technology forms part of INFINITUM’s strategy to further strengthen its position as
one of the most innovative golf destinations on the Costa Dorada and in Spain.
A quieter and more enjoyable round
Electric propulsion delivers an advantage that players notice immediately:
silence. By eliminating the noise associated with combustion engines, the new buggies help preserve the natural tranquillity of the resort and allow golfers to enjoy their round in a more pleasant environment. This reduction in noise enhances the feeling of immersion in the landscape while improving the overall golfing experience and reducing the impact of mobility on the surrounding environment.
INFINITUM Resort’s commitment to more sustainable golf
At INFINITUM, sustainability is an integral part of the way golf is understood and managed. The addition of 50 new electric buggies reflects a long-term vision that
combines a first-class playing experience with the responsible management of natural resources and the environment. As Joaquim Mora Bertrán, Deputy General Manager of INFINITUM, points out: “Sustainability and golf can — and should — go hand in hand.”
The new fleet helps reduce direct emissions associated with mobility across the courses thanks to a fully electric propulsion system. In addition, the combination of lithium batteries and GPS technology enables more efficient mobility, optimising movement around the resort while enhancing the playing experience without compromising respect for the natural surroundings.
With a fleet of more than 120 electric vehicles, a figure reached by very few golf facilities in Europe, INFINITUM Resort continues to advance a long-term strategy focused on reducing its environmental footprint while raising the quality of its facilities and services. The fleet renewal therefore represents another step towards a
more innovative, efficient and sustainable model of golf.
The new fleet joins other sustainability initiatives at INFINITUM Resort
The introduction of the new electric buggies forms part of a broader strategy to reduce the environmental impact of the resort’s operations and continue progressing towards a more sustainable model of golf. This commitment is reflected in a range of initiatives developed over recent years to improve energy efficiency, optimise resource management and protect the natural environmen.
Solar energy for more sustainable golf
INFINITUM has installed a new solar array consisting of 203 photovoltaic panels located on
the roof of the golf clubhouse, capable of covering almost 30% of the resort’s annual electricity consumption. This initiative helps reduce energy dependence while reinforcing the resort’s commitment to renewable energy and the efficient management of a golf resort on the Costa Dorada.
More sustainable water management on the golf courses
Protecting the environment and using water resources responsibly are key priorities at INFINITUM. The resort operates a water regeneration
system based on reverse osmosis technology, allowing treated water to be reused for irrigating the golf courses and landscaped areas. This solution helps optimise water consumption and reinforces the resort’s commitment to the sustainable management of one of the most valuable resources for any golf destination.
Golf courses designed to reduce environmental impact
The recent renovations of Hills and Lakes have also introduced measures aimed at improving the sustainability of the courses. Among them is the installation of Bermuda grass, a variety that significantly reduces water consumption and the need for chemical products, contributing to a more efficient and environmentally responsible model of golf course management.
A leading golf experience on the Costa Dorada
The addition of the new electric buggy fleet forms part of a continuous improvement programme that extends far beyond mobility on the course. In recent years, INFINITUM Resort has made significant investments in golf to modernise its facilities,
renovate its courses and continue elevating the golfing experience on the Costa Dorada. The recent transformations of Hills and Lakes, together with the introduction of new technologies and services, demonstrate an ongoing commitment to offering one of Spain’s most complete golf destinations.
As a member of European Tour Destinations and a regular host of the Final Stage of the DP World Tour Qualifying School, INFINITUM Resort continues to evolve to provide an experience on a par with Europe’s leading golf destinations. This commitment to excellence is reflected in every aspect of the visitor experience, both on and off the course, and positions its golf courses among the most outstanding on the Costa Dorada.
